Muestra de arte sobre barricas de vino
BotArt es una iniciativa de las Bodegas Ribas,
fundadas en el pueblo de Consell (Mallorca)
en 1711. El objetivo de este proyecto innovador
es que una serie de artistas, locales e
internacionales, intervengan libremente sobre
barricas de vino, con la voluntad de potenciar
y de unir el mundo del vino con el mundo de
la creación artística, ya de por sí dos artes
antiguas y acumuladoras de historia. BotArt
tendrá carácter bianual y las propuestas de
los artistas se mostrarán en una exposición,
que será itinerante, y en un catálogo.
Los descendientes de Pedro Ribas, fundador
de la bodega hace casi tres siglos, siguen
la labor de su antecesor de producir vino
elaborado con la uva procedente de sus propios
viñedos. La pasión por las tradiciones y
el espíritu inquieto y creativo de la familia
Ribas es lo que los ha llevado a impulsar
este nuevo proyecto, BotArt. La utilización de
barricas para la creación de obras de arte es
una forma nueva y diferente de dar a conocer
a los artistas de una región donde la cultura
del vino es cada vez más importante. |

Mostra d’art sobre bótes de vi
BotArt és una iniciativa del Celler Ribas,
fundat al poble de Consell (Mallorca) l’any
1711. L’objectiu d'’aquest projecte innovadorés que diversos artistes, tant locals com internacionals,
intervinguin lliurement damunt
bótes de vi –allò que el transforma tan lentament–,
per tal de potenciar i d’unir el món
del vi amb el món de la creació artística, ja
de per si dos arts tant antics com caramulladors
d’història. BotArt tindrà caràcter
bianual i les propostes dels artistes es mostraran
en una exposició, que serà itinerant, i
en un catàleg.
Els descendents de Pedro Ribas, fundador
del celler ara fa gairebé tres segles, continuen
la tasca del seu antecessor de produir vi
elaborat amb el raïm procedent de les seves
pròpies vinyes. La passió per les tradicions i
l’esperit inquiet i creatiu de la família Ribasés allò que els ha dut a impulsar aquest nou
projecte, BotArt. La utilització de bótes per a
la creació d’obres d’art és una manera nova
i diferent de donar a conèixer els artistes
d’una regió on la cultura del vi és cada vegada
més important. |

Exhibition of art on wine barrels
BotArt is an initiative of the Can Ribas Winery,
which was founded in the village of Consell
(Mallorca) in 1711. The project invites
local artists to interact freely with the wine
barrels, with the aim of reinforcing and uniting
the world of wine with the world of creativity,
since both wine and art are ancient
crafts with a great deal of history behind
them. BotArt will take place every two years
when the artists’ works will be catalogued
and shown in a traveling exhibition.
The heirs of Pedro Ribas, founder of the
winery, have continued to produce wine from
the grapes grown in their own vineyards for
almost 300 years. Their respect for tradition
and the restless, creative spirit of the Ribas
family are the driving forces behind the
BotArt project. Using barrels to create works
of art is a new, original way of raising the
profile of the artists in this region where the
wine culture is of growing importance. |

Kunstwerke auf Weinfässern
BotArt ist eine Initiative des Weinguts Can Ribas,
das bereits seit 1711 in dem kleinen Ort
Consell auf Mallorca ansässig ist. Das Projekt
lädt hiesige und bald auch internationale
Künstler ein, ihre Kreativität an ausgedienten
Barriquefässern frei auszuleben. Ziel soll es
dabei sein, die Welt des Weins mit der Kunst
zu vereinen und dieser Kombination ein neues,
interessantes Gesicht zu geben. Schließlich
haben beide, Kunst und Wein, Tradition seit
Menschengedenken und eine lange Geschichte
hinter sich. BotArt wird es alle zwei Jahre
geben. Die Werke der Künstler werden in einer
Broschüre zusammengefasst und im Zuge einer
Tour durch Europa ausgestellt.
Die Erben von Pedro Ribas, dem Gründer dieses
Weinguts, stellen heute seit fast 300 Jahren
Wein aus eigenem Anbau her. Der Respekt vor
der Tradition und der unermüdliche, kreative
Geist der Familie Ribas sind die treibenden
Kräfte hinter BotArt. Barriquefässer als Projektionsfläche
für künstlerisches Schaffen zu
benutzen ist ein neuer, origineller Weg, das
Talent der Künstler einer Region zu zeigen,
wo die Weinkultur immer wichtiger wird. |
